If you know me, then you know I’m completely obsessed with the Houston skyline. It’s one of my favorite things about Houston. Every time I look at the skyline, I am in awe. Fun fact: I even have the skyline tattooed on me, so it is truly a part of me. One of my favorite things to do is to go outside on a sunny day and do activities that are around good Houston skyline views. I can’t wait to share with you some of my favorite spots to take pictures with the skyline!
Sabine Street Bridge
Address: 103 Sabine St, Houston, TX 77007
This is one of my favorite spots because of the beautiful bridge and vintage light posts. These areas make it the perfect spot for photos. Sitting on the bridge makes for a great Instagram! I think I might even take some of my senior pictures here. One of my favorite things to do is have a “nature day” around this area. They have bikes that you can rent right in front of this bridge and then ride around the park. My friends and I love to do this on a pretty day in Houston! Be careful about picking your bike, though, because some of them aren’t in great shape and I’ve had some trouble finding a functional one in the past. It’s a great thing to do if you don’t own a own bike because the pricing for renting bikes there is very reasonable. There are also many locations for the bike rentals so you can pick and drop off the bikes for your convenience. Houston BCycle even has an app you can download that shows you the different drop off/pick up locations and how many bikes are available. This area also has a beautiful park, a skate park, and a cistern. If you have never been to the cistern, I recommend it. It’s really interesting to see and learn about the features of it. This area usually has some great food trucks, and one of my favorites of them is The Dough Cone.
2. Pedestrian Bridge over Allen Parkway West of Crosby St.
This spot is a Houston staple and the perfect photo opportunity. It is a fence covered in locks. The fence has a hole that the skyline fits perfectly into. It is down the street from the Sabine bridge so you can easily walk or ride your bike to hit both locations!
3. Downtown Aquarium
Address: 410 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002
The Houston Downtown Aquarium is one of my favorite spots to see the skyline because it’s a completely different view of the skyline; not directly in front. My favorite view here is from the top of the Ferris wheel. I highly recommend getting a Ferris wheel ticket which is only $5 and snapping some shots. You get such a unique perspective up there and it can be such a lovely Instagram photo!
Although there are many more amazing views of the skyline, these are some of my personal favorites because they are all very unique. Let me know what your favorite spot is to view the skyline or if you go and check out one of these locations!
